Are supply-only sliding doors right for homes in Tyne and Wear?
A few practical points decide whether supply-only sliding doors suit a particular room and opening:
Builders working in Tyne and Wear who already have a trusted fitter can use supply-only to keep installation in-house while still getting made-to-measure doors.
Whoever fits a supply-only door at your Tyne and Wear home, ask them up front how they will handle Building Regulations compliance.
- Clear measuring guidance and tolerances are provided before you order, helping you give dimensions the factory can build to accurately.
- The doors use the same frames, glass and hardware as our fitted doors, made to the sizes you give us rather than cut from standard stock.
- Delivery to mainland Britain is a standard £95, with Northern Ireland, the Scottish islands, the Isle of Wight and the Isles of Scilly by arrangement.

Daylight and glass in Tyne and Wear
In Tyne and Wear the shortest day has roughly 7 h 10 min of daylight and the longest about 17 h 22 min. The noon sun sits near 12° above the horizon in winter and 58° in summer — so glass that faces south collects useful warmth from October to March, while a west-facing door may need solar control to stop it overheating in July.

Who handles approvals?
If you buy supply only, whoever fits the door is responsible for Building Regulations compliance and safety glazing. In England a replacement door is a controlled fitting, so compliance is arranged through a competent person scheme installer or Building Control; new openings need a Building Regulations application.
Questions about supply-only sliding doors in Tyne and Wear
Do you deliver supply-only sliding doors to Tyne and Wear?
Yes. We deliver made-to-measure supply-only doors across Tyne and Wear, with standard delivery to mainland Britain at £95. Deliveries to Northern Ireland and the islands are quoted individually.
Do supply-only doors need building regulations sign-off?
Yes, in England a replacement door is a controlled fitting, so whoever installs it must either be registered with a competent person scheme and self-certify the work, or notify Building Control. With supply-only, that responsibility sits with your fitter, not with us. The door must also meet the energy and safety glazing requirements, which we confirm in the specification.
How much is delivery for supply-only doors?
Standard delivery for supply-only sliding doors is £95 to addresses in mainland Britain. Northern Ireland, the Scottish islands, the Isle of Wight and the Isles of Scilly are by arrangement, with the cost quoted individually. Delivery details, such as the date and any access restrictions at your address, are agreed before the door is dispatched.
What does supply-only mean?
Supply-only means we manufacture and deliver your made-to-measure sliding door, but we do not fit it. You, your builder or your own installer carry out the installation. The door uses the same frames, glass and hardware as our fitted doors. Supply-only is priced at roughly two thirds of the fitted guide price for the same door, plus delivery.
