Supply-only sliding doors

Made-to-measure sliding doors delivered for you or your builder to fit, at roughly two thirds of the fitted price. Guide prices from £2,195 inc VAT.

What are supply-only sliding doors?

Supply-only sliding doors are made-to-measure doors that we manufacture and deliver, but do not install, so you or your builder fit them yourselves. They suit builders, joiners and experienced homeowners who want the same frames, glass and hardware as our fitted doors without paying for installation. Supply-only is priced at roughly two thirds of the fitted guide price for the same door, and delivery to mainland Britain is £95, with Northern Ireland and the islands by arrangement.

Because the door is made to your sizes, getting the measurements right is your responsibility unless you book one of our surveys. We send clear guidance on how to measure and the tolerances to allow, and our measuring guide walks through it. We confirm the frame size, glass, colour, threshold and handing back to you in writing, and nothing is ordered until you sign off that specification.

Made-to-measure doors are built to your specification, so under regulation 28(1)(b) of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 they are excluded from the usual 14-day cancellation right once ordered. That is why we wait for your written confirmation before placing the order. Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are unaffected. In England, whoever fits the door must also certify it through a competent person scheme or notify Building Control.

Who are they for?

Best suited to

  • Builders fitting doors on their own projects
  • Self-builders with a trusted installer
  • Experienced DIY fitters
  • Projects outside our fitting coverage

Worth considering

  • You are responsible for measuring accurately unless you book a survey, and a door made to the wrong size cannot simply be returned.
  • Building Regulations compliance in England, through a competent person scheme or Building Control, becomes the fitter's responsibility.
  • Large glazed panels are heavy, so several people are needed to unload, carry and fit them safely.

Why choose supply-only sliding doors?

  • Supply-only costs roughly two thirds of the fitted guide price for the same door, which can make sense when you already have a capable fitter on site.
  • The doors use the same frames, glass and hardware as our fitted doors, made to the sizes you give us rather than cut from standard stock.
  • Delivery to mainland Britain is a standard £95, with Northern Ireland, the Scottish islands, the Isle of Wight and the Isles of Scilly by arrangement.
  • Every door is confirmed back to you in a written specification before ordering, so frame size, handing, colour and glass can be checked one last time.
  • Booking one of our surveys transfers the responsibility for measuring to us, which is a sensible option if you are unsure about sizes or tolerances.
  • Builders can schedule delivery to suit the project, avoiding doors sitting on site for weeks before the opening is ready for them.
  • Clear measuring guidance and tolerances are provided before you order, helping you give dimensions the factory can build to accurately.
  • Manufacturer guarantees on frames, hardware and sealed units are passed to you, and the supply terms are set out in writing in your quote.

Options and extras

  • Aluminium sliding doors. Thermally broken aluminium sliders in a choice of colours and glass.
  • uPVC sliding doors. A cost-conscious option, typically quicker to make.
  • Slimline systems. Narrow-interlock aluminium doors for maximum glass.
  • Internal glass sliders. Steel-look internal doors supplied with their track and fittings.
  • Survey before ordering. Our surveyor measures the opening so the responsibility for sizes sits with us; any charge is confirmed when you book.
  • Fitting accessories. Cills, add-on profiles and fixings specified to suit your opening, where the system offers them.

Lead times and fitting

Lead time: Typically the same as the fitted equivalent, for example 4–6 weeks for aluminium after sign-off.
Fitting: Fitted by you or your builder; for reference, a straight two-panel swap typically takes a capable fitter about a day.

Nothing is ordered until you confirm the surveyed specification in writing. See how it works.

Rules and approvals

If you buy supply only, whoever fits the door is responsible for Building Regulations compliance and for using safety glazing. In England and Wales that means a competent person scheme installer or a Building Control notification; in Scotland the building standards still apply; in Northern Ireland, district council building control.

Supply-only sliding doors: common questions

What does supply-only mean?

Supply-only means we manufacture and deliver your made-to-measure sliding door, but we do not fit it. You, your builder or your own installer carry out the installation. The door uses the same frames, glass and hardware as our fitted doors. Supply-only is priced at roughly two thirds of the fitted guide price for the same door, plus delivery.

How much is delivery for supply-only doors?

Standard delivery for supply-only sliding doors is £95 to addresses in mainland Britain. Northern Ireland, the Scottish islands, the Isle of Wight and the Isles of Scilly are by arrangement, with the cost quoted individually. Delivery details, such as the date and any access restrictions at your address, are agreed before the door is dispatched.

Who is responsible for measuring a supply-only door?

For supply-only orders you are responsible for measuring the opening and giving us the sizes, unless you book one of our surveys. We provide measuring guidance and tolerances, and confirm the sizes back to you in writing before ordering. If you book a survey, our surveyor measures and the responsibility for the sizes then sits with us.

Can I cancel a supply-only order?

Supply-only doors are made to your specification, so under regulation 28(1)(b) of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 they are excluded from the usual 14-day cancellation right once ordered. For that reason we order nothing until you confirm the specification in writing. Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, for example if goods are faulty, are unaffected.

Do supply-only doors need building regulations sign-off?

Yes, in England a replacement door is a controlled fitting, so whoever installs it must either be registered with a competent person scheme and self-certify the work, or notify Building Control. With supply-only, that responsibility sits with your fitter, not with us. The door must also meet the energy and safety glazing requirements, which we confirm in the specification.

Can I fit a sliding door myself?

Fitting a sliding door yourself is possible if you are experienced with joinery and glazing, but large panels are heavy and the frame must be fitted square, level and well sealed for the door to run and drain properly. You also need to deal with Building Regulations compliance. Many people use supply-only with a builder they already trust.

Do you deliver to Northern Ireland and the islands?

Yes, we can deliver supply-only doors to Northern Ireland, the Scottish islands, the Isle of Wight and the Isles of Scilly by arrangement. Delivery to these areas is quoted individually because it depends on the route and the size of the consignment. Tell us the full delivery address when you ask for a quote so we can price it.

How heavy are supply-only sliding door panels?

Sliding door panels with double glazed safety glass are heavy, and large panels can weigh well over the safe limit for one person to lift, especially with triple glazing. Plan for enough people on site to unload, carry and position each panel, and keep the route from the delivery point to the opening clear and level.
