Daylight and glass in Rutland
The midday sun over Rutland ranges from about 14° at the winter solstice to about 61° at midsummer. Low-angle winter light reaches further into a room through a tall door, which is one reason taller panels are worth considering; on south or west walls, pair them with solar-control glass.
Where we deliver in Rutland
We deliver supply-only doors to Oakham, Uppingham and the rest of Rutland.
Who handles approvals?
If you buy supply only, whoever fits the door is responsible for Building Regulations compliance and safety glazing. In England a replacement door is a controlled fitting, so compliance is arranged through a competent person scheme installer or Building Control; new openings need a Building Regulations application.
Questions about supply-only sliding doors in Rutland
Can you measure for a supply-only order in Rutland?
Yes, if you would like us to. Any charge for a supply-only survey is confirmed when you book; otherwise you give us the sizes, and you are responsible for them.
Do you deliver to Northern Ireland and the islands?
Yes, we can deliver supply-only doors to Northern Ireland, the Scottish islands, the Isle of Wight and the Isles of Scilly by arrangement. Delivery to these areas is quoted individually because it depends on the route and the size of the consignment. Tell us the full delivery address when you ask for a quote so we can price it.
Who is responsible for measuring a supply-only door?
For supply-only orders you are responsible for measuring the opening and giving us the sizes, unless you book one of our surveys. We provide measuring guidance and tolerances, and confirm the sizes back to you in writing before ordering. If you book a survey, our surveyor measures and the responsibility for the sizes then sits with us.
How heavy are supply-only sliding door panels?
Sliding door panels with double glazed safety glass are heavy, and large panels can weigh well over the safe limit for one person to lift, especially with triple glazing. Plan for enough people on site to unload, carry and position each panel, and keep the route from the delivery point to the opening clear and level.
