Daylight in Nuneaton and what it means for your glass
Because Nuneaton sees long summer days (about 16 h 50 min) and short winter ones (about 7 h 39 min), the elevation your door faces makes a real difference. With the midday sun at about 14° in winter, a south-facing door brings light well into the room; a west-facing door catches hot late-afternoon sun in summer.
What happens after you enquire
In Nuneaton the process is simple: guide price, free survey, written quote, manufacture and fitting, with the compliance certificate sent to you. Nothing is ordered until you confirm the surveyed specification in writing.
Approvals in England
English Building Regulations treat a new or replacement external door in an existing home as a controlled fitting: it needs a U-value of 1.4 W/m²K or better (or Doorset Energy Rating band C) if more than 60% of it is glazed (Approved Document L), and safety glass in a critical location (Approved Document K). Compliance is arranged through a competent person scheme installer or a Building Control notification, so you get a certificate for your records.
Sliding doors in Nuneaton: questions
Which sliding door suits a home in Nuneaton?
It depends on the opening and budget. uPVC is the lowest-cost option for openings up to about 3.6 m; aluminium gives slimmer frames and wider spans; slimline and lift and slide suit large, high-end openings. The survey in Nuneaton is the place to settle it.
Can you widen my opening in Nuneaton?
Yes. We can form or widen an opening for a larger sliding door, with structural calculations, a steel beam and English approvals arranged. That work is quoted alongside the door.
How much are sliding doors in Nuneaton?
Guide prices are the same across mainland Britain. A 2.4 m wide aluminium door is a guide £4,295–£5,295, fitted, including VAT; uPVC starts from £1,695. Your exact price is fixed after survey.
